Best Summer Fragrances

Best Summer Fragrances

Summer has to be the best time of year by far, especially this summer as we have most of our freedoms back and we can begin to return to normality. As the days grow longer a new spectrum of scents starts to delight us. We move away from the heavy ambers and winter spices towards more welcoming floaty florals and aldehydes. Just like how your closet swaps from sweaters and hoodies to shorts and t-shirts, so must your scents.

We all deserve something extra special this summer after all that we have endured, so it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to scents from exotic locations. Who knows, maybe you’re planning a trip and you want to impress in your new environment and we’ve picked out the best fragrances you can wear this summer from some of the most luxurious brands on the planet.

Dior J’adore Eau de Parfum Infinissime (£116)

Dior J’adore creates the perfect summer scent with notes of rose and ylang-ylang but it isn’t your typical floral fragrance. It comes in a luxe gold bottle and blends notes of bergamot and pink pepper. It only takes a spray for you to feel its deep warm scent that is intoxicating without being overwhelming.

Maison Margiela Replica Bubble Bath (£98)

It only takes one small sniff of this scent from Maison Margiela to realise why this summer perfume is called “Bubble Bath”. It has a soft, clean and fresh scent that includes delicate hints of jasmine and lavender notes with a musk of coconuts; making it a very well-rounded fragrance with a touch of depth.

Lancome La Vie Est Belle Soleil Cristal Eau de Parfum (£99.50)

This scent from Lancome is pretty much designed to look gorgeous on your Instagram feed and it has the smell to match. With this perfume, you get notes of coconut, vanilla, white iris and mandarin oils that blend to create the perfect light tropical scent. It’s pretty much an instant mood booster.

Valentino Donna Born in Roma Yellow Dream Eau de Parfum (£112)

We like to call this scent from Valentino sunshine in a bottle because it smells exactly like summer. The scent is refreshing and has slight zesty thanks to hints of lemon essence and soft cedarwood. The result is a stunning fragrance that will instantly remind you of summer gone by and set up your mood.

Cartier La Panthère Eau de Parfum Spray (£117)

This is the kind of scent that leaves an impression on everyone when you leave the room. It has light notes of gardenia which are combined with bold notes of musk which creates an energising feel. It’s somehow soft and bold at the same time and you’ll feel just like you’re ready to take on the world.

Gucci Bloom Gocce di Fiori Eau de Toilette (£92)

Since it was released late last year, Gucci Bloom has been a staff favourite. It has a sweet flowery scent that reminds you of your youth, thanks to notes of jasmine and tuberose. These flavours combine to create a crisp floral smell that can only be described as being that of an ‘evening in August’.

Chanel Les Eaux Paris-Venise Eau de Toilette (£128)

Unfortunately, old Boris isn’t letting us fly out to Venice this summer but this summery fragrance certainly transports you there. Chanel’s latest creation is filled with vanilla and neroli flavours that make it feel like you’re cruising on a yacht off the coast of Italy. A great set of imagery to have indeed.

Ralph Lauren Romance Rosé (£86)

It can be difficult to choose between fruity and floral scents since they suit the summer weather so well but Ralph Lauren may just have the solution. This scent somehow manages to combine both flavours with notes of red apple and rose de Mai. This creates a truly vibrant smell that it’s too heavy.
